The event will feature Natalie’s classroom lecture and live demonstration rides through the levels. \n \n2 Hours of USDF CE Credit\nUSDF L Graduates who attend this event will receive 2 USDF Continuing Education credit hours. Your $50 fee includes the education and live demonstration rides plus your choice of Turkey Sandwich or Ham Sandwich box lunch from Honey Baked Ham. \n  \nAuditors Welcome\nAuditors are welcome to attend this clinic\, but will not receive USDF CE Credit. Natalie been trusted to judge the selection trials for the Olympic\, Pan Am\, World Cup\, and World Equestrian Games dressage teams. Natalie is training our next generation of judges as an examiner for the USEF Dressage Judge’s program\, and has led may USEF committees over her career.

DESCRIPTION:IDS welcomes back Jeff Moore for our second clinic of the year! \nJ. Ashton Moore Clinic Application Form\nJ. Ashton “Jeff” Moore is a USEF “S” dressage judge\, sporthorse breeding judge\, and has judged at the FEI World Equestrian Games. Jeff is the head trainer\, owner and operator of Osierlea in San Juan Bautista\, CA. As a successful competitor\, Jeff earned USDF Bronze\, Silver and Gold medals. He has ridden seven horses at the Grand Prix level\, and was shortlisted for the Olympics. Jeff has trained more than 20 Grand Prix horses ridden by his students. \nJeff has a deep involvement in several key organizations and initiatives\, often times working together with the late Liz Searle. Jeff and Liz conceived and launched the USDF “L” Education Program. He also co-authored the USDF Glossary of Judging Terms. Jeff is the Co-Founder and former Executive Director of the Dutch Warmblood Studbook in North America (KWPN-NA). He is also co-founder and Technical Advisor of the American Vaulting Association. \nJeff is a student of some interesting characters\, including Col. Alois Podhajsky\, Director of the Spanish Riding School; Col. Waldemar Seunig\, a famous author of several seminal works about dressage; Count Herman Wrangel; and Baron Hans von Blixen-Finecke\, an Olympic gold medalist\, coach\, and Commandant of the Swedish Cavalry School at Stromsholm Castle. \nJ. DESCRIPTION:Jeff Moore Clinic Schedule\nIDS welcomes back Jeff Moore! J. Ashton “Jeff” Moore is a USEF “S” dressage judge\, sporthorse breeding judge\, and has judged at the FEI World Equestrian Games. \nJeff is the head trainer\, owner and operator of Osierlea in San Juan Bautista\, CA. As a successful competitor\, Jeff earned USDF Bronze\, Silver and Gold medals. He has ridden seven horses at the Grand Prix level\, and was shortlisted for the Olympics. Jeff has trained more than 20 Grand Prix horses ridden by his students. \nJeff has a deep involvement in several key organizations and initiatives\, often times working together with the late Liz Searle. Jeff and Liz conceived and launched the USDF “L” Education Program. He also co-authored the USDF Glossary of Judging Terms. Jeff is the Co-Founder and former Executive Director of the Dutch Warmblood Studbook in North America (KWPN-NA). He is also co-founder and Technical Advisor of the American Vaulting Association. \nJeff is a student of some interesting characters\, including Col. Alois Podhajsky\, Director of the Spanish Riding School; Col. Waldemar Seunig\, a famous author of several seminal works about dressage; Count Herman Wrangel; and Baron Hans von Blixen-Finecke\, an Olympic gold medalist\, coach\, and Commandant of the Swedish Cavalry School at Stromsholm Castle.

SUMMARY:IDS Webinar - Equine GI Disease - Fore and Hind Gut Ulcers\, Causes\, Diagnosis\, Treatment and Prevention
DESCRIPTION:Equine GI disease\, especially ulcers\, are a fairly common challenge for the horse owner. Symptoms are often confusing and left untreated\, can lead to poor performance\, behavioral issues and worsening clinical outcomes. \nLearning objectives: \nAt the conclusion of the program\, participants should be: \n\nAble to identify the external signs of gastrointestinal disease\nHave a basic understanding the difference between the different types of gastric ulcerations and hind gut disease\nHave a working knowledge of how we would diagnose\, treat and ideally prevent the different types of gastric and colonic ulcerative diseases\n\nRegister\nOur Speaker for the program is: \nLydia Mudd\, DVM\, CF \nDr. Lydia Mudd grew up on a small farm in Southern Illinois and has always had a love for animals. Dr Mudd has competed in both English and Western disciplines\, and spent summers working as an assistant manager at a stables that offered riding lessons and therapeutic riding programs. During high school\, Dr. Lydia began working at a mixed animal clinic\, and quickly fell in love with veterinary medicine. \nShe graduated magna cum laude from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Animal Science and Chemistry. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine\, and graduated in 2014 with recognition from the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Dr Lydia went on to complete a 1-year Equine Field Service internship at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine before joining the Janssen Veterinary practice as one of their equine practitioners. \nDr. Mudd enjoys all aspects of equine practice\, but has a special interest in podiatry\, ophthalmology\, and internal medicine. She completed a 6-week course at Five-Star Horseshoeing School to further her podiatry knowledge and has also earned the title of a Certified Farrier (CF) through the American Farrier’s Association.

SUMMARY:IDS Year-End Awards Celebration & Through the Levels Symposium
DESCRIPTION:We are putting on an event unlike anything we’ve ever hosted! This year’s event will be hosted at an incredible\, new dressage training facility and feature a live dressage symposium in addition to our traditional awards ceremony. To make it even better\, winners from of the IDS High Percentage Awards in the JR/YR\, AA\, and Open divisions will receive an invitation to serve as our demonstration riders! \nIDS Year-End Awards Celebration Luncheon – SOLD OUT!\nWe hope everyone can join us for a different type of awards ceremony this year. During the symposium we will have a two-hour lunch break where we will have a chance to mingle and catch up with friends. A catered lunch will be provided as part of the registration fee. During the luncheon\, we will present the IDS High Percentage awards\, Ride-Off Championship awards\, and the Perpetual Award trophies. In addition\, we have several door prizes that will be given out. This will be a more casual gathering than we have had in the past. Our planning has considered safety during the pandemic. \nThe Awards Luncheon from noon to 2pm will feature a mix\, mingle\, and sit menu focused on food to be enjoyed while relaxing in the company of other dressage lovers. Sahm’s Catering will provide a fun menu of both warm and cold tapas which will include vegetarian\, meat lovers\, and gluten-free offerings. IDS will provide a gourmet dessert bar as well. County Saddlery has graciously provided sponsorship of the beverage bar for the day. Coffee and waters will be available throughout the day; and a beer\, wine and soda station will be available from lunch until 5 pm. We will be celebrating our winners with a champagne toast at lunchtime. \nPlease join us in celebrating the accomplishments our members have achieved this year. \n \n  \nDressage Through the Levels with Angela Jackson (and IDS Demo Riders!)\nAngela Jackson will lead a Dressage Through the Levels symposium wrapped around Year-End Awards Celebration luncheon. The symposium is designed to show the fundamentals of dressage and how they are built upon at each level\, from Intro through Grand Prix. \nThis isn’t an event where our members will just observe\, instead the 2021 IDS High Percentage Award winners in each division will be invited to serve as demonstration riders. Angela has brought countless horses from training level to FEI. She also has coached many young riders to the top levels including Rebekah Mingari and Callie Jones\, two Young Rider Champions\, and Ella Fruchterman\, a team gold medalist in the youth young rider division. Angela has been a working student for Klaus Balkenhol. \n \nAmong Angela’s many accomplishments are: \n\nUSDF Regional champion\nUS Dressage Finals champion\nCompeted at Young Horse National Championships 4\, 5\, 6 year olds and Developing Prix St George\nCompeted at Global Dressage Festival\nCompeted at Dressage at Devon\n\nWith her extensive background in developing young horses and coaching amateurs\, Angela is uniquely qualified to lead us in the journey of Dressage Through the Levels. \n  \nOur Hosts – Far Away Farms\nFar Away Farms is an absolutely gorgeous\, private dressage training facility owned by IDS Member Laurie Rich and her husband Tom just minutes outside the northwest corner of I-465. Laurie and Tom built Far Away Farms not just for their own horses\, but with the desire to also generously welcome the dressage community in for clinics with top instructors.
