SUMMARY:IDS Adult Camp
DESCRIPTION:Indiana Dressage Society Presents: Adult Dressage Camp October 4th\, 5th and 6th 2024 \nWant to immerse yourself in a weekend of fun\, education\, friends and most importantly Dressage? Then plan to join us for the IDS Adult Dressage Camp to be held October 4th-6th at the Hoosier Horse Park. We will host up to 18 adult riders (must be 18+) for a weekend of instruction\, lectures\, friendship and horses! \nApply To Ride or Sign Up To Audit\nRegistration will open in May and will be first-come-first-served with preference given to current IDS/USDF members. If the Camp is over subscribed\, there will be a lottery to determine who is selected to ride. \nThis camp is appropriate for riders from Training to 4th Level. \nA deposit of $200 will be required at registration (and will be refunded for those who are not selected in the case of a lottery) and a wait list will be started once we have 18 riders. The balance of fees will be due 30 days before the start of camp (September 4\, 2024) \nAs is customary in a clinic situation\, if you are selected to ride and then have to cancel your refund will be determined by whether or not your spot can be filled. \nHorse or rider injury (or illness) that eliminates the ability to participate in the camp program: Rider must submit medical proof of either the rider’s or horse’s injury/illness prior to the date balance is due. In this case the deposit is forfeit\, but the team will not be liable for the remainder of the balance and the spot will be offered to individuals on the waiting list. \nIf the rider cancels after paying the balance of $600\, and another rider is available to take the spot\, the rider will receive a refund minus a $25 office fee. If no rider is available to take the place of the injured or sick team\, a refund of $400 will be provided. \nThe fee schedule for Camp is as follows:\n$800.00\n2 lessons each day given by USDF Certified Instructors\nAll meals\nDaily lectures at lunch and during the evenings\nStabling for the weekend\nFun activities such as trail rides\, and even story time\nCamper spaces will be available for anyone who wants to stay on grounds in their trailers (or tents if you are tough!) $30 per night. \nLodging:\nWe will also be reserving hotel rooms (location TBD) somewhere near the horse park for those who need them.\nAccommodations will be paid for individually by campers and we would encourage folks to consider sharing rooms and or trailers where you can! \nArrival:\nCampers will move in on Thursday October 3rd and enjoy a Meet and Greet Social gathering. Lessons and lectures will begin on Friday the 4th. We will be working out the topics soon\, so watch this space for further information. \nAuditors Welcomed!\nIncludes lectures and activities\, Meals optional.\nAbility to watch all lessons\nUnlimited number of auditors welcome! \nApply To Ride or Sign Up To Audit\nMeet our Clinicians\nKaren McGoldrick\nKaren McGoldrick rides and teaches dressage in Canton\, Georgia. She is the author of a series of novels titled\, “The Dressage Chronicles” as well as the novel “Betwixt the Stirrup and the Ground” and its sequel\, “Mercy Asked\, Mercy Found. She earned her USDF Bronze\, Silver\, and Gold rider medals on horses she trained herself. She graduated “with Distinction” from the USDF “L” program. She is a USDF certified Instructor/Trainer through fourth level. Although semi-retired\, she is lucky enough to still have horses in her daily life. \nSummary of Achievements:\nBronze\, Silver and Gold medals\nUSDF L Program graduate with Distinction\nUSDF Certified Instructor through 4th Level \nJennifer Grant\nGrant is a USDF Silver and Bronze Medalist\, L Graduate with Distinction. She has helped several students achieve their bronze and silver medals and is a USDF certified instructor through 2nd level and eligible for certification through 4th level. She has previously taught 4 other dressage camps at her training facility outside of Cincinnati and recently had an article published on myUSDF.org. She has trained several horses to 4th level\, competed through Intermediate on an Appendix Quarter Horse she trained herself and currently working on Grand Prix. Jennifer was a working student for Pamela Goodrich and continues to work with Pam as well as riding in clinics with Cindy Ishoy\, Lilo Fore\, Olivia LaGoy Weltz\, Jeremy Steinberg\, Lendon Grey\, Steffen Peters\, Courtney King Dye\, and Jane Savoie. \nSummary of Achievements:\nSilver and Gold medals\nUSDF L graduate with Distinction\nUSDF Certified Instructor through 2nd Level \nKate Fleming-Kuhn\nKate Fleming-Kuhn is a USDF Certified Instructor through Fourth Level and USDF Bronze\, Silver (at age 16)\, and Gold Medalist (at age 21). Kate has trained horses and riders through Grand Prix with regional and national success. Kate’s introduction to horses came early through her father\, Dr. James Fleming. She began riding at StarWest as a junior rider in 1992\, taking lessons with Alice Martin. Kate continues her education under her long-time mentor\, Gerhard Politz\, with whom she has ridden since 1998 in clinics and as a working student. Kate has also ridden regularly under Col. Christian Carde\, Conrad Schumacher\, and Lilo Fore. \nSummary of Achievements:\nBronze\, Silver and Gold medals\nUSDF Certified Instructor through 4th Level \nApply To Ride or Sign Up To Audit
